Albura Kathisma was one of the first restaurants in Sultanahmet, established in the heart of Istanbul's fascinating, magnetic and mysterious old town, and remains today a favorite of travellers, tourists and locals offering a truly unique and special dining experience.
Close to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and the Arasta Bazaar, Albura Kathismaoriginally began in what was a family house from Ottoman times. Our street terrace and garden retreat leads into ancient underground ruins where the Byzantine Magnaura Palace once presided. We believe in maintaining our historic links to the past in our culinary traditions too.
Drawing on the arts of traditional Ottoman and Byzantine cooking, we’ve added modern Turkish twists to our menu together with some cosmopolitan favorites of modern international cuisine and middle-eastern Kebabs.
From sumptuous starters, fresh salads and vegetarian dishes to main courses centered on succulent meats and seafood specialties, to pasta dishes, specials for children and our finely designed puddings and desserts, all are lovingly and carefully prepared to cater for every individual palate.
Using the highest quality ingredients possible (fresh, delicious and locally sourced), combining and cooking them to perfection, our belief in traditional Turkish hospitably and excellent service is also reflected by waiting staff who care about your enjoyment and experience here with us.
Open everyday of the year, we offer Breakfast, Lunch and Evening menus accompanied by a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
We also cater for private parties and special events like Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
